Maunby Investment Management Limited is a data controller under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In the conduct of business with yourself we will need to collect information about you and we will use this information to ensure that our services are suitable for your circumstances. If you do not provide the relevant data we may not be able to proceed with our services.
The lawful grounds on which we rely in processing your data are as follows:
- where it is necessary for carrying out a contract that we have with you, or for the purposes of entering into a contract with you;
- where we have a legal obligation to process your data;
- where it is in our legitimate interests to process your data.
You have the right to inspect your records, and all such requests should be referred to the Information Security Officer (Mrs Rachael Bradley) at Maunby Investment Management Limited. You have the right to ask for your personal data to be corrected or deleted or for a copy of such data to be provided to you electronically and in a commonly used format. In the event that we are recording personal data of children, we will not do so without parental or guardian consent.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requires us to keep records of our business transactions for specified periods; but we will not keep your records for longer than is necessary. This may prevent us from deleting personal data which regulatory bodies require us to maintain for a mandatory minimum period of time. There may be occasions when regulatory inspectors, such as the FCA, need to look at your personal information and they may need to contact you directly.
The data we collect from you is held using the Microsoft Cloud as our email server for storing, receiving and sending encrypted emails as well as keeping local copies of Outlook on our firewalled (and when mobile, encrypted) workstations.
In the course of providing our services we may need to share your data with third parties such as platforms and life assurance companies, with HMRC and regulatory inspectors such as the Financial Conduct Authority. We do not pass your data on to third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances.
We may transfer personal data to countries outside of the EEA such as IoM, Channel Islands and US. In such circumstances we ensure that your data has the same safeguards under General Data Protection Regulation.
We are required to record calls relating to the reception, transmission and execution of client orders under the EU directive, MiFID II.
Should you require a financial planning service, our Chartered Financial Planner John Holian will collect additional information as relevant to your financial planning needs. On such occasions it may be necessary to process sensitive personal information (eg, health details) and we will require your separate consent for this purpose.
In future we may contact you to advise you of products and services that may be of interest to you. We will not contact you unless you agree to our doing so by signing the declaration and consent and you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.
